Inspirations 21

Winter reminds us of the dates of feminism. To mark the occasion, we’ve put together a selection to highlight this theme.
February 7, 1971: Women win the right to vote and stand for election in Switzerland
In 2021, we remember that Switzerland was one of the last countries in Europe to grant universal suffrage, and that was fifty years ago!
March 8: International Women’s Rights Day
March 8 comes around every year. The demands evolve and yet are repeated, because while society changes, on a national level it takes longer.
Street harassment, equal pay, marriage for all.tex, equal pensions, equal rights for all.tex, representativeness in politics, in business, gender freedom, epicene language, representativeness in the public space, violence against women. Old-fashioned issues, really?
The #MeToo movement, then “Balance ton porc” and the Trump era, have revealed that sexism is an everyday occurrence.
Today, feminism has made its mark. Struggles are discovering themselves to be plural: radical feminism, ecofeminism, Afrofeminism, queer, differentialist, intersectional, pro-sex, pop….
Inspiring figures
Angela, Angèle, Béatrice, Beyoncé, Caroline, Chimamanda Ngozi, Conchita, Emmanuelle, Françoise, Gisèle, La Gale, Gloria, Greta, Julia, Inna, Kamala, Laure, Méryl, Michelle, Pomme, Simone, Vandana… so many leading figures, sister figures of feminism in 2021.
And since it’s impossible to find cultural venues and opportunities to get together, we’ve put together a selection of documents to help you do just that!
