Winter will be hot: pleasures and sexuality

Discover a selection of books dedicated to sexuality on BCUL’s Riponne site.

As the library is one of the only cultural venues still open, this is the perfect opportunity to stock up on books for your evenings out, alone or accompanied (but no more than 5 people!).

BCUL offers a selection of recent books entitled “plaisirs et sexualités”. In the plural? In 2021, we’ll have understood that practices go beyond the idea of a single, standardized sexuality. Not convinced? Take a look at our selection and find something to warm up your sexuality this winter!

How do we look at and talk about sexuality today? If you want to know more, or if you think you know it all, this selection is for you!

From the Jouissance Club illustrated manual (from the famous Instagram account followed by over 800,000 subscribers) to Ovidie’s new book Baiser après #metoo : lettres à nos amants foireux, not forgetting ma vie sexuelle est plus grosse que la tienne (which corrects preconceived ideas about sex) and the dictionnaire bienveillant de la sexualité (which we wish we’d read when we were teenagers!), there are so many books dealing with sexualities in an inclusive and diverse way.

And this selection is certainly not an injunction to performance or a fulfilled sex life. It also highlights abstinence and the absence of desire (and there’s nothing wrong with that!).
