Although we endeavour to keep the Site accessible at all times, we cannot guarantee access in all circumstances. Please note that since the Internet cannot guarantee the security, availability and integrity of data transmissions, we cannot be held responsible for any errors, omissions, deletions, delays or failures (particularly due to viruses) of communication lines, hardware or software over which we have no control, or for any unauthorized use of or damage to any content you may post on this Site.

2.1 A General obligations of the User

We uphold the values of tolerance and respect for others. For this reason, this site may not be used to convey racist, violent, xenophobic, malicious, obscene or illegal content.

By using this Site, you agree not to:

a. disseminate content that is harmful, defamatory, unauthorized, malicious, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, inciting violence or racial or ethnic hatred;

4 PERSONAL DATA

We may collect personal data about you, in particular when you (i) subscribe to a service, (ii) download Downloadable Content, (iii) use a Rubric and/or a diagnostic tool, (iv) register for a game/contest, (v) send us an e-mail, (vi) respond to a survey or study.

This personal data will be processed exclusively by the Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire – Lausanne and may be used in the following ways:

  • Statistical studies: we compile and study your data in order to define your profile and better adapt our services to your expectations. These statistical studies are strictly confidential;
  • Customer relationship management: if you send us a message, your data will be stored and used to respond to your request and ensure follow-up;
  • Provision of services: sending newsletters, access to certain consulting areas, etc.
  • Furthermore, if you have authorized us to do so by checking the appropriate box, we may transfer your personal data to our partners.

In accordance with the cantonal law of September 11, 2007 on the protection of personal data (LPrD; BLV 172.65), you have the right to access, modify/oppose, rectify and delete your personal data.

To exercise this right, you must send us a request by e-mail together with a photocopy of your identity card or passport to the following address: communication@bcu.unil.ch.

5 ANALYSIS TOOLS

Site uses cookies to manage the services available on its online platforms (websites and applications). These are necessary to recognize the user and provide personalized, relevant content. Site ‘s online world also uses Matomo, a web traffic analysis solution that respects privacy.

This tool also uses cookies stored on the user’s computer/mobile phone, enabling analysis of the user’s use of the Site‘s online platforms.
