Dark Water

After her divorce, Yoshimi moves in with Ikuko, her 6-year-old daughter, in a dilapidated apartment building. Soon, mysterious noises and elements intrude on their daily life. Who is that little girl in the yellow raincoat wandering the corridors? How does a little red children’s bag keep appearing in Ikuko’s hands? What’s the origin of the trickles that spread across the walls and ceiling of their apartment?
With Dark Water, Hideo Nakata offers Japanese fantasy cinema one of its masterpieces: a ghost film as terrifying as it is shocking.
The film is introduced by Judith Berlanda-Beauvallet, journalist at Écran large and creator of the YouTube channel Demoiselles d’Horreur.
