Masterpiece on the horizon
A young deaf garbage collector develops an obsessive passion for surfing. Supported by the protective gaze of his fiancée, who is hearing-impaired like himself, the young man progresses from grueling apprenticeships to grueling competitions, until the sea separates them.
Kitano’s third feature, this film of love and surfing is the perfect end to a year devoted to the ocean.
The film will be screened at the Cinématographe and introduced by film historian Faye Corthésy.
