Ten little anarchists by Daniel de Roulet

1873, ten young Jura women, their children and their 20A onions, embracing the anarchist ideas of the Commune, set out on a journey to the far reaches of South America, hoping to build a better life. “I leave you Europe, land of thieves, with my comrades I go into exile, and all united to work we will form the social colony” sing the settlers who arrived earlier. Fleeing conflict after conflict, one country after another, their lives never turned rosy. But some projects came to fruition, cooperative enterprises were founded, and a community life developed on Robinson’s island. Between two storms, freedom is savored. No hierarchies or pacts, no moral codes or work standards, “no god, no master, no husband”.
In the end, all that’s left of the group is Valentine and his story…
