Diamond Open Access is a publication model that is free of charge for authors or creators and for readers or users, and is mostly financed by nonprofit institutions (universities, learned societies, libraries, etc.). 

In 2025, BCUL, in collaboration with UNIL and BiUM, launched a Diamond Open Access Fund, with Track C providing support for Diamond initiatives that involve a project aimed at improvement or professionalization. 

If your journal/platform/structure needs one-off funding to professionalize, improve its workflow, set up specific projects or strengthen its sustainability, don’t hesitate to submit your application. The deadline is June 1, 2026. All practical information can be found on the BCUL website.
